Gun Control Laws Do Not Work

Across the United States there have been many shootings and attacks. The most recent being in San Bernardino California where 14 innocent lives were taken. Most of these shootings are in schools, state buildings, movie theatres etc. Every public mass shooting in the USA since 1950 has taken place where citizens are banned from carrying guns. There are ways to end these people going on killing sprees once and for all. Many law abiding citizens are experienced and comfortable with a firearm. Imagine these people being able to take their concealed weapons into places that are now “no gun zones”. This would act as a deterrent against the people who go on killing sprees. This law is important to keeping a free society. Americans must have the right to defend themselves, their friends, family, and property at all times. Many of the new proposed gun laws do not correlate with a decrease in violence, but instead the laws take away from law abiding citizens from concealing a weapon on their person to protect themselves and others. As citizen of the United States we need to protect what this country was founded on. We need to protect what our founding fathers wrote in the U.S. Constitution and the Bill Of Rights. An armed society is a polite society. There will be a decrease in crime and violence if gun control laws are reversed.

While it may be true that most massacres utilize legal weapons these people would be quickly stopped if citizens were packing their own heat. For example, back in 2012 in Denver, Colorado a man took to a movie theatre. The man entered the movie theatre with high powered assault weapons even though guns were prohibited. He had no regard for humanity and went on a shooting spree. This individual took the lives of 12 and injured 70 more. He was arrested out in the parking lot. In court he pleaded “not guilty by reason of insanity”. Shortly after the shooting millions of citizens started to buy guns. The citizens wanted to protect themselves and it was their right to bear arms. The no gun zone did not stop the criminal from entering with guns.
