Cloud Computing and The Future
Our future in computing is moving into a whole new direction called Cloud Computing. Many questions and issues have arisen from this new adventure in computing. For us to understand cloud computing we must first learn what it is. Once we have established that knowledge we can then venture out to the advantages and disadvantages, types of models, and finally services in cloud environments. We will see the correlation of information that leads into how cloud computing affects us today or in our near future.

Advantages and Disadvantages What are the negative impacts of utilizing cloud computing? Abuse and nefarious use, insecure interfaces and APIs, malicious insiders, shared technology issues, data loss or leakage, account or service hijacking and unknown risk profile.
An article printed in the SC Magazine about Los Angeles contracting with Google feel security is a positive factor, for they believe companies like Google and Microsoft employee about 500 or 600 security specialists that all they do is live and breathe security. Google has taken security seriously, especially after they were hacked in January.
Though one of the less publicized concerns is Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) audits, people do not realize that an annual on-site assessment is required for compliance. However, there are a number of cloud providers, like Amazon, that won’t let auditors into their data centers. The PCI Security Standards Council has not managed guidelines in the cloud. This is something to be concerned about, when you are dealing with credit card security.
