The debate on gay has had a lot of social media coverage in the recent past. This is attributed to the fact that here have been a lot of controversial issues surrounding it. There are people who feel that gayism should be in the state constitution. On the other hand, there are those with the opinion that gayism is absurd and should not be enacted in the law. The recent happenings in Uganda, where the President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni signed the antigay bill received diversity in terms of its coverage. The following is a content analysis of the topical media coverage. I have paid specific attention to postcolonial, feminist, Marxist perspective discussed in class.

Compared to the article in Aljazeera, the news coverage has applied the propaganda model. In essence, the propaganda model explains how systemic biases function in the mass media. The public mind is manipulated to accept a specific course. The mode of creation of conflict acts as a propaganda for undemocratic forces. This is brought to light by the Correspondents that speculate on the inefficient parliamentary system in Uganda. It is to be appreciated that this is a profit making media organization. Therefore, the news included must suit its readers. After all, they wholly dependent on customers for sustainability.
